Epoxy resins are made up of two components, namely, a resin and a hardener. For optimal performance, it is recommended to mix 10 parts resin with 1 part hardener. Once the two components are combined, the system takes around 24 hours to polymerize. Using an epoxy system has numerous advantages, such as low shrinkage, retained transparency, minimal exothermic temperature generation, excellent edge retention, and resistance to chemical attack.
